Went to the Gun Show today and SCORED!
Came home with a Custom Mauser. It has a Mauser Action, Timney Trigger, 45/70 Heavy Barrel, Monte Carlo Walnut Stock with a Silver Grip Cap and Pachmayr Recoil Pad, Lepold Scope Mount and Rings, Redfield 12x Scope and a box of ammo. I think it was built in the 1950's and it still looks like new. I traded a Stevens 311 double barrel shotgun and $150 for it, I think I stole it!!

Wow!!!! The shotgun wasn't worth a bunch so you might just have $300-$400 max in this. Yeah, that would be a deal. Some of the best hunting rifles ever made have been built on Mauser actions.
What's stamped on the receiver? You know that Factory 45-70 ammo has to be downloaded in case it gets fired in a old gun with a weak receiver. No worries with the Mauser though, you can safely hand load that bad boy way up. Did you even offer to kiss the seller after what you did to him? |

Tom Horn Caliber. Great deal bro. WE used to shoot chunks off the boulders with them.
